An early morning train ride into Cornwall is always something to look forward to as it usually means Emily and I are on a mission. This weekend was no different. Par to Polperro via an overnight stay at Fowey. Disembarking at Par we made a beeline for Par sands and the coastal path; only stopping to pick up some free fresh produce for our journey. Armed with overnight bags we set off, making the most of the sunshine and tramping through sand onto weaving cliffs as we made good time to Polkerris.

Liam and Emily here and another joint post! Liam: In the first 24 hours in and around Bangkok we saw the good and the bad. Pork noodle wanton soup for 40 baht (~£1.10) = fantastic. The tourist trap that is Damnoen Saduak market, not so great.
Just waiting to rip us off… I’m joking, us tourists get what we deserve I guess!

The North Sea, probably very cold!

For anyone who has seen Braveheart, a trip to Stirling has got to be a must if you find yourself in central Scotland. The Battle of Bannockburn, Robert the Bruce and, of course, William Wallace. Amazing characters from a remarkable period of Scottish and English history. From Glasgow it is a short train journey (around 35 mins) and costs less than £9 for an off-peak return. It couldn’t be simpler.
Stirling Castle, or rather just one part of the amazing complex!
